Meet Our Team
Andrea Stickland, DVM/Owner
As the owner and leading veterinarian at Animal Medical Center of Chandler, Andrea has a specialty in general medicine, including internal medicine, dermatology, nutritional consulting, and soft tissue surgery. She is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2001. She was born in Inglewood, California; lived in Lake Tahoe for 10 years; and then moved with her family to Arizona. Her interest in animals began early in life, starting with 2 little dogs. Her pet family then grew to include 10 horses, 24 cats, 26 dogs, and 2 birds–all at one time. She began her veterinary career as a veterinary assistant in Tucson, Arizona, while attending the University of Arizona (GO CATS!).
After working as a veterinary assistant, Andrea met her husband, Chris, a Tucson native, and moved to Michigan for graduate school. While there, she participated in many new adventures, including Student Class President, President of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, President of the Feline Club and Canine Club, and head of the fundraising committee for the Veterinary College at Michigan State. She spent her summers working for the Vetward Bound Program, which helps underprivileged young adults fulfill their quest in the veterinary industry. She also spent time at the Indian reservations along New Mexico and Arizona for the Remote Area Medicine program to help spay, neuter, and vaccinate reservation animals. Andrea and Chris moved back to Arizona after graduation in 2001. In 2005, she was invited by MSU to go to Wyoming to participate in teaching veterinary students remote area medicine and surgery on the reservations by Riverton.
Andrea and her husband share their home with three children, a spoiled cat named Whiskey Whiskertons, and a bulldog named Latte. When she’s not at work, she loves to read, dance, hike, and spend time with friends and family. Today, she finds herself here at Animal Medical Center of Chandler to welcome the community and provide wonderful care and service to her patients.

Sheryl joined the Animal Medical Center of Chandler team in October 2015. She has loved and connected with animals since she was a little girl. However, her early career did not involve animals. She initially received a degree in baking and pastry arts and enjoyed it, but always wondered what it would be like to work with animals. She eventually followed her heart and got a job as a veterinary assistant in 2006, and never looked back. Sheryl is particularly fond of pain control and healing using integrative methods like acupuncture and K-Laser treatments (available here at Animal Medical Center of Chandler). She is “owned” by her two spoiled dogs, Brody and Lani; a leopard tortoise, Sunshine; and two chickens, Mama and Penny.
Bobbi is an Arizona native, born and raised, and still resides in Chandler. She graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program at Pima Medical Institute in 2002. At Animal Medical Center of Chandler, you will find Bobbi utilizing her skills as both a technician assistant and a receptionist. She has three kids, Alec, Arik, and Ava; two cats, Si and Fancy; and a Uromastyx lizard, Bowser. When not at work, you will find her spending quality time with her family, including attending her son’s football games (GO CHS Wolves!), doing activities with her kids, and enjoying breakfast and a movie with her mom every other weekend.
Andrea moved to Arizona when she was 9 years old. As a child always imagined herself working with animals. After graduating high school, Andrea volunteered at Wildlife World Zoo. She then got an internship at the Emergency Animal Clinic and this is where her veterinary career took off. Andrea is happily married and has 2 dogs, Maya and Zen. She loves to travel and see new places and meet new people. In her free time Andrea enjoys sewing, reading, and hiking.
Brittney grew up in Westminster, Maryland and always knew she would work with animals. She graduated from Delaware Valley University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in zoo science. Nicole was born in Glendale, Arizona, in 1996; lived in Ahwatukee until 2002; and then moved to San Tan Valley. Her love for animals started at a young age, thanks to her mom (who worked at a pet store and always brought small animals home), but the desire to care for animals as a career stemmed from Nicole’s experience with her late golden retriever, Jake (Bacon). She currently lives in Florence, Arizona, with her fiancé, Stewart; two “dog children,” Hank and Bill; and multiple aquariums full of assorted fish. When she’s not at work, she loves camping, fishing, and hiking.
Michelle is an Arizona native and proud of it! She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2012 with a BA in Psychology. Although she enjoyed her studies in Psychology, she has always had a passion for animals. This passion blossomed from volunteering with various rescues groups, helping out with adoptions and assisting with the kennels. Michelle is thrilled to finally be working in an environment where she can be around animals and help assist with their health and well-being any way she is able to. For fun, Michelle also teaches/practices yoga and pilates. She also loves spending time with her 21 year old cat, Angelica, as well as her family and friends.
Kirstin grew up in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Chandler, Arizona in late 2010 with her mom as opportunities arrived for their small family. Her first rescue dog, Cricket, came to her soon after her arrival in Arizona and made the transition much easier. This fueled the flame for her love of animals that Kirstin always had growing up… Once an animal person, always an animal person. The step towards her veterinary aspiration kick started in June 2016 with the opportunity to work at a vet clinic in Washington, DC. Although Kirstin enjoyed her time on the East Coast, her heart brought her back to Chandler in October 2016. She will be pursuing veterinary technology and animal medicine at MCC in 2017. When Kirstin is not at work, you can find her out and about staying as active as possible!
