Andrea Stickland, DVM/Owner
As the owner and leading veterinarian at Animal Medical Center of Chandler, Andrea has a specialty in general medicine, including imaging, treating allergies, nutritional consulting, and soft tissue surgeries. She is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2001. She was born in Inglewood, California, lived in Lake Tahoe for 10 years, and then moved with her family to Arizona. Her interest in animals began early in life, starting with 2 little dogs. Her pet family then grew to include 10 horses, 24 cats, 26 dogs, and 2 birds–all at one time. She began her veterinary career as a veterinary assistant in Tucson, Arizona, while attending the University of Arizona (GO CATS!).
After working as a veterinary assistant, Andrea met her husband, Chris, a Tucson native, and moved to Michigan for graduate school. While there, she participated in many new adventures, including Student Class President, President of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, President of the Feline Club and Canine Club, and head of the fundraising committee for the Veterinary College at Michigan State. She spent her summers working for the Vetward Bound Program, which helps underprivileged young adults fulfill their quest in the veterinary industry. She also spent time at the Indian reservations along New Mexico and Arizona for the Remote Area Medicine program to help spay, neuter, and vaccinate reservation animals. Andrea and Chris moved back to Arizona after graduation in 2001. In 2005, she was invited by MSU to go to Wyoming to participate in teaching veterinary students remote area medicine and surgery on the reservations by Riverton.
Andrea and her husband share their home with three children, a spoiled cat named Whiskey Whiskertons, and a bulldog named Latte. When she’s not at work, she loves to read, dance, hike, and spend time with friends and family. Today, she finds herself here at Animal Medical Center of Chandler to welcome the community and provide wonderful care and service to her patients.
Kristy Sorenson, DVM
Dr. Kristy Sorenson is an Arizona native who received her Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University. She worked as a veterinary technician in Dallas-Fort Worth for two years, then ultimately went on to pursue and receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin in 2016. After experiencing four long, gray Midwest winters, Dr. Sorenson and her husband, Jake, decided they needed to return to the warmth and sunshine. They relocated back to the Phoenix area and currently live in Mesa with their two boxers, Sol and Elmer, and their terrier rescue Zoey. In her spare time, Dr. Sorenson enjoys hiking, traveling, swimming, decorating her home, and visiting new restaurants.
Dr. Sorenson’s special interests related to caring for your pets include wellness plans, internal medicine, and teeth cleaning. She is passionate about creating client experiences that involve both interactive education and establishing meaningful connections with both pet and owner. She looks forward to working together with our team to build a plan for your pet’s care!
Laura Diltz, DVM
Dr. Laura Diltz grew up in Southern California and moved to New York to attend Cornell University for her undergraduate degree. She then went on to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University and graduated in 2007. After finishing school, she was very happy to say goodbye to the snow and move to sunny Arizona where she has been practicing veterinary medicine ever since! Her current pet family includes three cats, the senior Ms. Kalypso, and two teenage boys, Loki, and Lorenzo. She spends her free time traveling and reading books.
She loves practicing preventative care and internal medicine for both dogs and cats, but has a special interest in caring for cats. As a longtime member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, she is very happy to join a Cat Friendly Practice to help improve the health of naturally secretive cats by promoting fear free visits and increasing early detection of illness.
Chelsie Daniel, BVM&S MRCVS
Dr. Daniel grew up locally in Mesa, Arizona. She attended Arizona State University and received her bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2010. She then traveled to Scotland to attend veterinary school at the University of Edinburgh, which she graduated from in 2016. After too many cold and grey Scottish winters, she returned to sunny Arizona to be near family and practice veterinary medicine. Her professional interests include preventative care, feline medicine, and dermatology. In her spare time, Dr. Daniel enjoys traveling, photography, reading, and unashamed Netflix binging. She shares her home with her Bengal kitty named Hugo, who also made the big trek to AZ from the UK!
Aimee Gordon, DVM
Dr. Aimee Gordon is a general practitioner in small animal medicine with a special interest in internal medicine, oncology, and immunology. She believes being a veterinarian is a wonderful way for her to help animals in need and to be their voice. After growing up in Los Angeles California, Dr. Gordon received her Bachelor of Science from University of Arizona while also working as a veterinary technician in Tucson. In 2008, Dr. Gordon graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts after completing her 4th year clinics at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a 1 year small animal rotating internship in Mandeville, Louisiana before moving to western Pennsylvania where she then practiced for 12 years. Dr. Gordon is glad to be back in the desert environment she grew up with and away from the winter cold!
At home, Dr. Gordon has 2 cats Nala “Bean” and Caleb and 1 toy poodle, Ruthie. Nala was rescued from St. Kitts while is vet school and Caleb and Ruthie were adopted in Pennsylvania. Caleb has a congenital defect that causes him to be unsteady on his feet. Dr. Gordon loves his determination to do everything himself and doesn’t let his physical challenges get in his way. Ruthie is a hyper and energetic toy poodle that loves to go on long trail walks. While not working or caring for her own pets, Dr. Gordon enjoys playing golf, dragon boating, yoga, and is an avid L.A. Kings fan.
Sydney is an Arizona native who’s family moved to Chandler 17 years ago when it was nothing but cow farms! She spent 4 years in Tucson at the University of Arizona graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Criminal Justice and Psychology with a Minor in Sociology. Sydney’s first exposure to working in the Veterinary field was in High School and she could not stay away any longer after graduating college! Currently at home, Sydney has a 13 year old Lhasa Apso named Koda, a 5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix named Marky, and a 1 year old French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix name Franky. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends or heading up north to her family cabin to escape the heat with her family and pups.

Cassandra Allen, CVT - Lead Technician
Cassandra came to Animal Medical Center of Chandler in August of 2016. Cassandra graduated from Pima Medical Institute and shortly after became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Cassandra’s hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling up North to escape the heat, and enjoying her 3 cats- Otis, Kitten and Hercules, and her Doberman puppy Enyo.
Katie Jewell, CVT - Inventory Manager
Katie, an Indiana native, moved to Arizona in March 2018 with her husband Brandon and their two dogs: Elly and Reggie. In 2008, she graduated from the VetTech Institute in Indianapolis. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 9 years and absolutely loves working with animals. Katie and her family also recently rescued a cute Pitbull mix named Barkley! In her spare time, she likes to pet sit, go on walks, read and relax at home with her family.
Krishna Poe, CVT
An Arizona native, Krishna is a U.S. Army veteran and graduate of Mesa Community College and Pima Medical Institute. She has been a veterinary technician since 1998. Her past experiences include hospital management, general practice, and emergency vet medicine. Although she only works at Animal Medical Center of Chandler part-time now on the weekends, her love of animals and veterinary medicine keeps her active in the field. Krishna is the proud parent of two children, a crazy orange tabby cat, a rambunctious but very sweet pit bull, and an albino corn snake. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, bike riding, attending church, yoga, kick boxing, and playing with her children.
Kelsey Parrish, CVT
Kelsey grew up in Ohio and moved to Arizona when she was 16 years old.
She started with us at AMCofC when she entered the the Veterinary Assistant program at Pima Medical Institute. Once she graduated she continued on and completed their Veterinary Technician Program, and just recently became a Certified Veterinary Technician! In her free time, Kelsey likes to read, watch movies, and go out to eat to try new restaurants! At home she has a 4 year old Bluetick Coonhound named Jim Bob, Bobby Ray a 1 year old German Wire-haired Pointer, and a kitty cat named Ody!
Phoenix grew up in Ohio but currently resides in Casa Grande, although she is looking to move to the Chandler area soon! She graduated from CAC with her Associates in Nursing, but quickly realized she likes being a puppy/kitten nurse much better and became a technician 8 years ago! Her favorite part about her job is being able to make a difference in not only the patient’s life, but also make a connection with their owners. At home, Phoenix has a corgi mix named Charlie and a Chihuahua Cattle Dog mix named Mr. Deeds. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pups, reading, and hiking (when it’s not 100 degrees out).
Heather grew up with many animals on a horse ranch in Flagstaff, Arizona. She has been in the veterinary field since earning her Veterinary Assistant certification in 2002. After going through a couple of her own eye surgeries, she became intrigued by the field and ended up working at a specialty practice for 9 years. She moved back into general practice in 2015 where she now enjoys the variety. She finds it rewarding being able to contribute to keeping pets happy and healthy. Heather and her husband moved to San Tan Valley in 2008 where they currently reside with their son and two dogs, a Labrador Retriever and an Australian Shepherd. She also has a leopard gecko and an Australian leaf bug! Her free time is spent mostly with family and close friends.
Desiree is a California native who has spent the last 15 years in the southwest, but moved to Arizona in 2015 with her family. She has 2 pittie mixes, Boris & Ruca, and 1 old English bulldog named Miklo. However, her 11 year old cat, Luci is the one who runs the household of course. Desiree also has 4 pet rats! Desiree shares the small zoo with her boyfriend, Javier and their 7 year old daughter Malena. Desiree is a 2 year Pima alumni who is shooting to take her VTNE this summer! She enjoys going to the river with her dogs and taking plenty of vacations with her family!
Rebecca and her family bounced around a lot growing up but she has spent the most time in Arizona! Her interest in the field started young as she grew up with lots of pets consisting of cats, dogs and reptiles! When she adopted her sweet American Staffordshire Terrier pup, Sandy, she changed her life for the better and Rebecca knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field with animals forever. At 16 she started at a veterinary clinic in their boarding facility, moved up to a surgical technician and has not stopped since! Currently, Rebecca lives in Queen Creek with her boyfriend Collin, their two cat children Volibear and Boycott, and a sulcate tortoise Akupara.
Maggie is an Arizona native and just recently moved out to San Tan Valley with her boyfriend Alex and their fur family. Their fur family consists of two dogs, a German Shepherd named Zeus and a Miniature Pinscher mix named Odie! Maggie graduated from the Pima Medical Institute Veterinary Assistant program in August of 2018 and started her technician career shortly after that! Her favorite part about her job is learning new things to educate and create bonds with our clients to give their pets the care that they deserve! In her free time she enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling. She also enjoys taking pictures! Fun fact, she has had both her artwork and photography displayed in art shows in downtown Phoenix!
Johanna is native to Arizona. She attended Pima medical institute and graduated in 2020. Johanna loves working with animals and can’t imagine doing anything else! Johanna’s hobbies include spending time with family/ friends, traveling when possible, hiking up in Sedona, enjoying time with her pets Mimi, a 5 year old miniature poodle, and (her favorite child) Chispita, a 9 year old chihuahua.
Sara moved from Prescott and became part of the AMCofC team in February of 2021. She moved with her husband and her beloved fur children; Nismo the cat, Martin the hamster, and her three rats Grandma, Huayra, and Zonda. Sara has worked in the veterinary field since 2012 and loves caring for her animal patients. She has a soft spot especially for cats and pocket pets. She is Fear Free Certified and her goal is to make every pet comfortable and as stress free as possible during their vet visit.
Kasha, a Washington state native, but raised in Arizona since the age of 7, is a US Army veteran of 12 years and graduated from Pima Medical Institute. She worked as an Emergency Technician for 6 years and is now full time at Animal Medical Center of Chandler. Her past experiences include critical care, trainer, and surgery technician. At home she has 3 dogs named Wicket, Winnie, and Bentley, and a cat named Bugaboo. Kasha is energetic and outgoing and loves to spend time with her partner creating memories with their kids.
Lauren, an Arizona native, came to our team on her externship as a Veterinary Assistant student in August 2018. In September of 2018 she graduated with her Veterinary Assistant Certification, and will be continuing her education in the Veterinary Technician Program while working part time. At home she has a husband, son, daughter, two Mastiffs named Sarge and Ammo, a Great Dane named McKenzie, Bessy who is an Aussie mix, and two Sphynx kittens named Axxen and Hazey. In Lauren’s free time she loves to camp, go to the lake, fish, and mountain bike when she isn’t snuggling her animals.
Magdalena was born and raised in Arizona. She attended Chandler High School and graduated in 2018. She then went on to attend East Valley Institute of Technology and completed their Veterinary Assistant program in 2019. At home Magdalena has a 9 year old Chihuahua/Poodle mix named Luna, a German Shephard named Leo, and T-Rex the pomski! In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family, friends and boyfriend Martin.

Ariana, originally from New York, has called Arizona “home” since 2005. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Northern Arizona University and is using these skills daily at AMCofC.
Her favorite part of working at AMCofC is the community and shared love of our fur babies. At home, Ariana has a Saint Bernard named Nina and two cats, Bella and R2. In her free time, Ariana enjoys watching movies and spending time with family.
Laura is happy to be back in her native state of Arizona after spending 15 years in North Carolina raising and homeschooling three daughters with her husband, David. After years of retail marketing and social media management, and still wanting a position to help the community in a practical way, she found the wonderful people at AMCofC!
Laura lives with her family and their Cream Retriever, Jasper, in Gilbert, and in her spare time continues to volunteer for the Arizona state homeschool organization.
Patience moved to Arizona in 2008 from Pennsylvania. She eared her degree from Pima Medical Institute as a veterinary technician in 2013. Patience lives with her husband Karl in Maricopa. Together they have four cats: Toulouse, Mischief, Katniss and Nubkinz however, the leader of their pack is their 8 year old Australian Shepherd, Gatsby. In her spare time, Patience enjoys spending time with her family, baking, reading and playing video games with her husband.
Riyan was born and raised in Arizona, with a short couple of years spent in Hawaii as a young girl. She has always had a special love for furry friends and is proud to be a part of our wonderful team here at AMCofC. At home, Riyan has two cats; a sassy young Siamese mix named Freya and her little sister, a Russian Blue mix named Rishi. These are her first cats, as she has always had dogs and can’t wait to have both in her home. In her spare time, Riyan enjoys writing, reading and hanging out with her boyfriend Jack, their cats and friends/family.
Vanessa attended and graduated from Carrington College as a veterinary assistant in 2009. She has been working in the field ever since and enjoys building bonds with clients and their pets. She currently resides in Chandler with her husband, Junior, and daughter, Mia. They have a poodle mix named Tater, and three cats named Marabelle, Faith and Embree. They also have a cat named Marabelle and a newly adopted kitten named Faith. Vanessa enjoys scrapbooking, sewing, and spending quality time with her family.

Meghan was born and raised in Arizona. She is currently attending Basha High School and will be graduating in 2022 to later attend The University of Arizona. Meghan has a German Shepherd named Milleigh and a Shepherd mix named Alleigh. In her free time she likes to cook, watch movies, and hang out with friends and family.
