Why We Don’t Recommend Low Cost Spay and Neuter Services

We understand why many people might choose to use a low-cost spay and neuter service for their pet. However, low-cost clinics cannot guarantee the level of quality and attention your pet deserves. At Animal Medical Center of Chandler, our veterinarians, technicians, and all other team members work together to give pets the most positive experience possible. As an AAHA-accredited practice, you can be confident that our team will provide the best treatment for your pet and take every safety measure into consideration before moving to the next step. Why Low Cost Care is Risky

  • Low-cost clinics generally serve a large number of patients in a shorter amount of time for the sake of efficiency. Because of this, the connection that is necessary between the pet, the owner, and the veterinarian for optimal care is never made. The veterinarians and staff simply don’t have the time or resources to give your pet one-on-one attention and answer all of your questions.
  • Additionally, many low-cost clinics do not use the level of pain management that we do. This is especially true for areas where overpopulation control takes priority over the well-being of the animal. Post-surgical pain can slow a pet’s recovery and lead to other health issues.
  • Being focused on efficiency, low cost clinics are extremely busy, crowded places that can be stressful for pets. We pride ourselves on creating a relaxed environment that helps to reduce stress in our patients (and their owners!). Furthermore, our highly experienced veterinarians and staff are trained to treat your pet with patience and understanding of their individual needs.
  • If they can’t see your pet regularly, the low cost clinic will have limited knowledge of you and your pet, and will be under no obligation to improve upon their surgery and safety protocols. Because we adhere to AAHA’s surgery guidelines, our knowledge is not only extensive but in keeping with best practices as well.
